Raja Nong Chik answers grouses over the new Datuk Keramat market
FT Ministry To Address Grouses Of Datuk Keramat Market Traders
KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) — Federal Territories Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said he will discuss with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to address grouses by traders at the new Datuk Keramat market.
He said the traders refused to relocate to the new market building as there were several weaknesses that need to be rectified.
“I admit the weaknesses and have to talk to the mayor so see whether the government can afford to make improvements including the design,” he said after visiting the Datuk Keramat Market Complex here Thursday.
Traders had demanded that DBKL renovate the building particularly the wet market and also improve some facilities.
The new Datuk Keramat market which took ten years to complete was opened last month but traders refused to move in as it lacked facilities while the stalls alloted were small.
